Study Abroad

St. Petersburg, Russia The Russian Studies program encourages students to study abroad in Russia and other post-Soviet countries. Washington University offers these programs:

  1. Summer, semester or year-long study in St. Petersburg, Russia under the auspices of the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).
  2. Washington University Summer Program in Kazakhstan: Archaeology and History of Central Asia offers students a rare opportunity to travel to Kazakhstan, the largest of the former Soviet republics in Central Asia.  Please contact Prof. Michael Frachetti (frachetti@wustl.edu) for more information.
  3. Washington University Summer Focus Trip to the Caucasus.  Students have the opportunity to study the cultures of the South Caucasus in Georgia and Azerbaijan.  Please contact Dean Mary Laurita (mlaurita@artsci.wustl.edu) for more information.
