Major
There are three options for students wishing to pursue a concentration in Russian:

- Major in IAS: Both the International Studies track and the European Studies track in International & Area Studies can be pursued with a focus on Russian or Eurasian Studies. Four semesters of language study required. For further information, please view the IAS Web site or contact Toni Loomis (aloomis@WUSTL.EDU).
- Major in Comparative Literature, with a focus on Russian literature: Courses in Russian language at the 300 level or above count towards the major’s requirement for advanced study in the target language. For further information, please view the Comparative Literature Web site.
- Special Major: Taking into account the course offerings planned over the next few years, and in consultation with an adviser, a student may submit a major of his or her own design to the College Office for approval. A special major might involve four years of Russian language, Introduction to Russian Civilization, and four courses at the 300 level or above in literature, history, or culture. For further information about special majors, please contact Dean Cathleen Fleck in the College Office (cfleck@WUSTL.EDU).
